If you’ve got an entrepreneurial drive or have always intended to purchase a business, is today a good time to take the leap? In the present recession, your first thought may be negative, but keep in mind that wherever there is difficulty, there is a potential opportunity and that a great many individuals have become extraordinarily successful in periods of seemingly critical economic news. While you should always expect to work very long hours and make all sorts of personal sacrifices when you own a business, you also must have a surplus of resources and an even more level-headed temperament should you choose to pursue purchasing a business in an economic downturn.

One of the largest hurdles you’ll have to overcome involves financing. Don’t ever underestimate the quantity of money that’s required to get a business up and running and moving forward unhindered. Don’t just include the figures that you come up with when you value a business, but project how much it would cost you to run a business for three years. Once you have a figure, quadruple it!

Right now is the ideal time to negotiate seller financing so take advantage of the fact that banks aren’t lending and keep the seller on the hook for your success by having them carry a balance of sale.

Make sure that you identify a need for the product or services that you will be selling. It is not enough just to own a business, your offerings must be in demand. While many people seem to think that business of all kinds will shrink during the recession, this is not necessarily the case. There are certain types of business that will enjoy an expansion during a downturn and there are categories of business that can be classified as essential. Perhaps you should purchase a business which is “bulletproof” through an economic downturn?

Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box when it comes to buying a business. You may find the solution that will fit your needs perfectly. Whilst many might feel that the type of business you’re considering is foolhardy, you might consider that it represents additional opportunity. For example, whilst lawn care service might appear to be a luxury, many people are finding that they have additional pressures on their time and can least afford to spend hours in the yard themselves.

There’s one particular thing to bear in mind in times of recession however – do not let emotions come into the decision-making process. Use your head and make sure that when you are ready to look at a business for sale, you have the right fundamentals in place, can finance or have definite access to finance to ensure that the business can exist for at least three years. Be as diligent as possible when it comes to assessing the absolute need for your product or service, in bad times as well as good.

Five years ago Congress enacted modest improvements for employer-sponsored pension and 401(k) plans. Little progress has been made since in narrowing the nation’s projected trillion retirement income deficit. America’s real retirement security crisis is not Social Security solvency, but the declining number of Americans that participate in any retirement savings plan. Employer-sponsored plans cover fewer than half of all workers, leaving a projected majority of Baby Boomers and Generation Xers even more dependent on Social Security than their parents’ generation is today. Looking For Online Home Based Business Opportunity?

The biggest mistake that I have made is to miss out on online home based business opportunity. This mistake was that I did not understand that it takes time to start a business and especially as it as a real online home based business opportunity.

I was introduced to a guy by the name of Paul Birdsall to participate in a in one opportunity at that time it was called Plug Into Green Profits I got to learn the process and started doing all the things that I needed doing. I attended webinars and courses on the Internet to understand what I needed to do. This was a great online home based opportunity but I regret that I missed out on it.

I also started advertising in all sort of media without proper thought to what I was doing. I was sending quite a lot of time and money while I was doing this and found that I was spending too much money in advertising and started getting upset as webinars got cancelled and my ads did not get me any results.

So what did I do? I missed out on the opportunity by getting upset with my self and what I was doing. I was also in touch with other people that were also in this online home based business opportunity. These people were also negative like me and as a result I stopped doing the things that I needed to do with this opportunity and stopped learning the system that I had to use for this business opportunity. I compounded my mistake by quitting what I was doing stopped learning and wasted a lot of time.

The mistake I made was to think that I would be able to generate income over night and did not realize that there is a lot of learning understanding and applying the methods and principles to make a success of it. As I said I quit and wasted a lot of time and effort looking for any other business opportunity without realizing that the learning has to come first and that it was going to take time to make money.

After 2 years I was again looking for an opportunity and came across Paul again and started learning from him again. I now realize that I wasted two years and also lot of time and money that could have saved if I had stayed and doing what I needed to do.

I hope that if you find a real online home based business opportunity you do not do what I did and waste a lot of time and money like I did. I have now started with my opportunity and have written few posts that have got to high rankings on Goggle and I am now on my way to making money so when you are looking for an opportunity a please remember not to make the same mistake that I made. This online opportunity was a nugget that I did not see and hope that by seeing it I will profit from it.

No matter how intelligent you are, you’ll always discover new things you don’t know about.

When you create your own business, it might be easy to think you can run things without any input from others. However, you should welcome the opportunity to learn from anyone that’s successfully doing the same thing you’re trying to achieve.

Why make unnecessary mistakes when you can avoid them?

Mindset Tip #2 For Starting A Home Based Business – “Good” Is Good Enough

This one happens to a lot of folks. In fact, you might have already experienced it for yourself…

Have you ever had a great idea for a project, but talked yourself out of it and failed to take action?

Have you started a project, but never finished due to trying to get things perfect?

Or, have you ever “finally” found what you were going to start, only to get distracted by a “better” idea?

Mindset Tip #4 – Overcome Your Fear Of Failure

Just for fun, let’s imagine you’re planning to create your own product.

You do the research, create the content, edit it as needed and then get cold feet when it comes time to launch because you think nobody will purchase or like what you have to offer.

Wrong!

At the very least, you now have a product you can offer as a bonus the next time around.

However, it’s very like you’ll make some sales. And when that happens, your customers will let you know if something doesn’t sit quite right or if something needs to be clarified.

Suddenly, you’re bonding with your customers and strengthening your product at the same time!

Give yourself some credit: most people never take any action at all…

Mindset Tip #5 – Always Be Curious

When you take a curious approach with every project you tackle, enable yourself to solve problems with an open mind. You can almost guarantee that you’ll be able to uncover fresh ideas to better your business.

Experiment with your marketing, split test different marketing ideas, constantly learn as much as you can about your market.

But be warned:

While learning about your business is critical to creating success, it’s important to focus on one thing at a time.

Otherwise, you risk getting overwhelmed and going right back to not taking any action at all!

I was sitting in the car dealer waiting room the other day, waiting for the oil to be changed in my car. The TV in the waiting room seemed to have constant news reports about the rising cost of oil.

Every time we think (or hope) it has finally peaked, oil goes up again. What’s worse, it doesn’t go up slowly. It seems to spike each and every time. How has that affected your budget?

Because businesses are suffering, they cannot afford to pay their employees more money and some people are laid off. Therefore, people have even less money. This leads them to travel and spend even less. Then businesses…..well, you get the idea. What is the answer to the cycle?

All of us will have to make adjustments to survive in this new environment. What’s exciting is that at the same time it becomes almost unaffordable to drive our car, technology is making it so we really don’t have to.

The internet is much more advanced today than most people realize. It also becomes more advanced very very quickly. 6 months from now, we will have a different internet than we do today. 6 months after that, it will be different yet again.

Never will there be a better time to enter a stay at home mom’s business opportunity than right now. For the first time in history, you can be 100% effective AT HOME. Your advertising, billing, communication, meetings…EVERYTHING can be done online. No need to burn fuel.
